Swift looks much nicer than Objective C. I'll probably start using it as soon as I can get around to installing the 10.10 beta.

I have no interest in a vendor-locked language that doesn't bring anything new and will either fail or change soon (it's a beta, it's ok).

Why don't you want it to take off?

Given the caliber of questions you seem to ask here I think you'd be the last person I would listen to with regards to the usefulness or design of a programming language.

It brings plenty to the table if you want to do iOS development and, for what it is, seems to be a competently designed language.

That was uncalled for. The caliber of my questions is too low? Sorry, Im probably not as good as you are then.

I just hate apple, if triple-the-price, overdesigned products are your thing then fine... but don't tell me yet another "apple-exclusive" technology is going to bring anything useful when java, xamarin and similar technologies are trying to go crossplatform and unify all the mess.

My point is that you don't have the experience to be a judge a programming language, which is why the only argument you can come up with is "LOL APPLE FAIL". Also define "unifying all the mess" because Google and Android have done the exact opposite of unification given how fragmented the platform is and how varying the user experience is over devices.

edit: And the technology stacks involved here have very little to do with it as it's more of a philosophy difference rather than the merits of the tech being used.
