Discuss:
1) What you used.
2) What you used it for.
3) How long you've used it.
4) How you found it.

I am curious what your views are. Why don't you kick start this little discussion by adding a little insight of your own :)

I've been using unity on and off for a while now. I haven't really done anything spectacular but when ever I get bored I add a create functions to a few ideas I have. My last few creations have been scripts that create a GUI mini map as well as a day night cycle system. which will play a role on future larger ideas. My next script I will have to create is autonomous pathing for AI.

I dabbled in cry engine, but I never really took to it.

I'd imagine, or at likes hope to imagine, that he refers to game engines/sdks as "game makers."

I don't even know what the point of this topic is anyways. We can wag our dicks around all day because we use certain game engines.

C# is how java should of turned out. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

In our "introduction to gaming engines" (i made that up, the course isn't really called that) class, we made our own, very simple game engine, based off of SFML and we use a bit of Boost on the side. I personally don't enjoy game dev. but it's pretty neat the things you can do with these. I'd recommend having a look at them if you know your way around C++

You also asked what my point was, what do you feel that engine is best for?

I see a bucket load of fps and other highpoly count games being made in unity and being released. And people wonder why most unity games lag or get the gintyers lol
