I've been into coding for awhile now. I tried doing some Java and javascript.
I'm more experience in Javascript.
I've done simple text adventure games and calculators. Simple programs and such is JS.
I'd like to get into making an actual simple game. Some kind of action game I could just share with friends and get more in depth with coding.
I want to get into maybe having a character and controlling with keyboard. Even a simple platform game will make me happy.
My questions are:
Which of these 2 languages would be better to get more in depth as I want described?
Are there any very explained tutorial sites I could check out to walk me through the first few times I create a project/game?
Is there an easier language I should learn to get more into game coding?
Never really used python because I thought it was mainly for business-like programs.
Just looking for any advice you more experienced coders could throw at me.
Thank you all.

You can use either or. Decide on a browser game or one you download (or embed), more tutorials for Java as JS isn't a language for games though I guess it'd be possible. If you want games now look at unreal sdk and unity

For javascript, you can try gameQuery
http://gamequeryjs.com/
or Intel XDK
http://xdk-software.intel.com/
They're good for making cross-platform games in javascript.

Use unity3d or udk and then program the specifics yourself.
