I am looking for a format to make my music for my android device (self recording).

I know I can always go with the generic MP3

But I was also looking into M4A and FLAC.

The thing I am not sure of it is android can play M4A or FLAC, and also the file size of those formats in comparison to each other, and MP3.

Could go on about explaining each of these but generally this should give you an idea of what's going on, lossless files are going to be larger than lossy, and this article points out which are which and so on.
