I know fortran isnt very popular technique atm, however its still usefull in numerical calculations. I need a compiler which is not old school. Some auto correcting and little user friendly would be great. If you have any softwares in mind that could help me out, i would really appriate it. Thanks, good day.

I think you're mistaking a compiler with an IDE.

As for compilers, my default would be gcc (more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Fortran%5Fcompilers ). Though most likely I'd do the computation in C++.

Photran might be useful to you:

http://www.eclipse.org/photran/

That is an IDE, which I assume is what you wanted.

uh sorry after re-reading it this post might cause some misunderstandings.

The splash is not at the start of running Platon IDE, its when my code starts to run

Error: Does not compute

There's also a Code::Blocks IDE for Fortran, and a plugin for NetBeans. You'll pretty much find that every popular IDE with plugins will have some sort of support for Fortran. Keep in mind you can always resort to Notepad++ for editing, and then use a command line compiler. You do lose some features this way that you may get out of the IDE approach though
