I know very little about programming. Ive been looking at these forums for awhile and looking at a few youtube videos about programming.

What are some of the best, or the best language(s) to start learning as a beginner. (I will be using youtube videos mostly and anything else I can research to gain experience)

Know a good video about this language? Post a link below :)

I'm new to programming too, taking my first class this semester on java. The textbook for the class was quite good I'd recommend it. I found a torrent of it when the semester started I imagine its still floating around.

The book is - Starting out with Java, from control structures through objects. Author - tony gaddis

The text does a very good job of explaining basic concepts clearly, my professor was pretty worthless so I basically learned everything from the book. I'm still learning but I feel pretty confident with the basics just from reading through this book.
