i dont use php professionally. only time i used it was for a school project a few years ago. i've had good experiences searching for stuff on their site (unlike other frameworks/languages), so i just searched for bbcode in their site and found that.

There was a library I found quite a long time ago (5, 6 years maybe) that I was using when I was still a nooby but couldn't bring it up in my recent searches.
PECL's bbcode isn't included in PHP 5.3.5 which my clients machine runs, so I'd have to recompile it and it's too much work for what it's worth.

Never done any BBCode stuff myself, but would something like this not work?
http://jbbcode.com/

What I googled:

I was just looking for a php bbcode parser and this result was on the second page of Google for me, anyway using this for now, setting up different profiles for parsing is kind of annoying with this but I can look past that.
