if i knew i wouldnt be asking ,

then ask, yes we need "more details" ...

what issues how large extracting what converting what to what ...

from pm's it seems he just wants to view very large text files, forget about the extract/convert part i guess...

I recommened gVim (free), and ultraedit (not-free), if anyone has any other suggestions....(I'm assuming windows is the platform).
