If anything they'll lose more money because there's no more indie developers having to pay for their $300 licenses anymore. It's like if Adobe decided to make Photoshop free.
It depends how you look at it, I think that it's a bit more complex than that. More people will use the program that is for sure, however when it comes time to publish their game they will still be as likely to purchase the full version to remove the watermark and use advanced features such as shadows. Either way I'm sure that they're in the position to do whatever they like, and they will be fine if income goes down a little.
