this tells me to do the exact same thing... and it is not working >.>
All this says is how to create a bridge connection, which i already knew how to do. That's how i've been doing this before.

Try using NAT instead of bridge ?
Also try to create an Ad-hoc network on your laptop so your computer can connect to your laptop....
Maybe you also have to activate your modem's router ?
Good luck bro !
edit : just read about your "unidentified network" then "network 3".....obviously IP address conflict.
Try to manually force IP addresses, your new modem has its router this disabled imo.
I'm not great with computers, so i don't really know what most of this means/how to do it. And i do NOT have a router...
Right now I'm at the best possible point that i can figure out how to get to. my laptop has internet. On my laptops side, everything is working properly. The internet, local area connection (desktop), and bridge connection are all identified and working properly.
However, on my desktop's side, "Local Area Connection" is marked as "Unidentified Network".
When i diagnose, "Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration [Fixed]
Except nothing has changed and it says that same thing no matter how many times i diagnose.
