So I checked the stickies and really couldn't find much useful on wireless for macs, was hoping for a bit of help or suggestions. I am at an institution, I live right off campus, about a half mile from the nearest building with a router to the college network. Now I have come to understand that a half mile is a long way for wireless, but here's the thing: sometimes my connection works amazingly well (late at night), like im talking 23 ping and great download speed, but other times during the day it drops all the time and is terribly slow. My question is, is there anything I can do to have the speed I get at night during the day? Or is it just a result of traffic + long range combined?
its the result of traffic and distance. you can take a look at my blogs to see my wifi antennas and modifications but i dont think they will help you that much in this case. my mods are mostly for finding networks far away rather then actually connecting to them. reason being is because unless you boost the output on the router it wont make a difference how well you receive the wifi.
