you might of damaged your drive or your adapter is broken. i had a laptop external harddrive enclosure that did the same thing because it wasnt getting enough power from the usb ports.

google how to recover files. its pretty easy in linux but you most likely wont understand. iirc theres a bootdisk you can use to recover files.

did thats why i went out and got the adapter but the instructions are worthless and the videos i've seen they seem to just plug and play the hd never pops up with

you need to format disc in drive h before you can use it

do you want to format ?

from my small knowledge in computers formatting isn't what i want to do because that wipes the drive.

im runnin win7 32bit

testing out a recovery program with the adapter hope this works its found my lost partition so seems like its going good

yes it does wipe the drive and after the wipe its near imposable to retrieve your files. there are special tools to recover files that windows cannot use.

look for something like this

http://www.powerdatarecovery.com/data-recovery-resources/hard-drive-recovery-boot-disk.html

a bootdisk that you burn to a dvd or usb and then you boot your personal computer from. from there most software will allow you to recover files from dead drives.

although be for warned if you drive is truly damaged you wont be likely to retrieve any useable data.
