The top gradients are a bit... eerier, I suggest a fading top bar, something similar to nexon.net's bar at the top.

The navigation menu seems a bit 2005'ish, try a more cleaner approach Google "beautiful navigation bars" and use css3 or jquery; or whatever you wish.

I'd have to agree with the older looking nav menu. The website itself looks sort of plain.

Also, I noticed there is no Title over the top 4 links in the right side bar. Not sure if that was on purpose or not.
In my opinion, I would put the search bar higher up. Something easier to get to.
