Clicked a link to a youtube vid in aim earlier that had a period in yout.ube or something like that. Not sure why or what but I was wondering what freeware I can use to scan and make sure I'm okay. Please help very worried.

Can anyone else second this by chance? It sketched me out cause I've never seen youtube.com as youtu.be.com/r9283grhu4efho etc

Press the share button.
The shortened link is in the box displayed.

Also people tend to put breaks in links to other websites because the website they want to post in, wont allow them to post any external links.

anytime you watch a youtube vid a click "share" it gives you the "youtu.be" link

yeah this freaked me out to when i first saw it..

to be super safe, i suggest buying a software called "sandboxie" You can run your internet browser (or almost any other program for that matter) in a strict confined area of the disk. kind of like a antivirus quarantine area. by meddeling with the settings you can make your browser have all of its data deleted upon closing keeping it squeakey clean. i still havent tried it, but i heard you can purposely download a virus and be fine. its almost like running the program in a Virtual Machine. keeping the host ten feet away from anything possibly malicious
