I'm not a very skilled web developer, hardly consider myself one, but just curious as to what you guys think of my site.

What are we supposed to comment on? You've got nothing in your portfolio. It sounds like you're more of a designer than developer.

When you need money in the immediate future, choosing a career that leaves you broke for the next 10 years usually isn't the best idea. But whatever works for you.

It's clean and easy to read. A bit boring though.

A few ideas:

- As others said, spellcheck.

- Don't refer your readers to a page that is currently blank (ie your portfolio). Just take it out until you have something to put there.

- There is a fine line between minimalism and nothingness. Yes, it's nice to make sites that aren't too "in your face", but this takes simplicity a bit too far. There is nothing to focus on.

- Writing that you don't even remember the name of the company you did work experience with is simply a bad move. If you can't even remember what they were called, just take it out. In its current state that detail does more harm than good.

- I don't mean to be rude with this point, so please forgive me if it comes across as harsh but: If you aren't a native English speaker, get one to help you rewrite the text. Aside from the numerous repeated spelling mistakes, the general way that it's worded sounds unnatural and a little awkward.

- First you state that you started a small company that creates software, then you go on to elaborate that you are referring to web templates. Web templates aren't software, and people who buy web templates will probably know that and point it out.

Having said all that, here are a couple of positive things:

- You're trying. That in itself is great. A lot of people just sit around thinking about what they would do if they could be bothered to do it. You actually tried to create something, which is a good start.

- You're asking people for feedback. That's great, as it's really the only way to improve.

Good luck with it all. If you enjoy it enough, you will gain the skills you need in the end.

people don't want to read that shit, you're website is a sob story, ask yourself, "what is the point of this website?"

make some things, don't mention the complexity of sites you make, rather than explaining something negatively explain it in a positive light.

There's no work in your portfolio…

Also something to think about (this is something I have been meaning to do myself btw), rather than saying experience… and portfolio do a case study of a project and explain your role, and how you dealt with situations (if you want to go for employed work) or how you increased profit/deliverables/results/bottom lines (if you want to look for freelance work)

Heres my portfolio
its been a while since ive done anything on it, probably about a year or so, but i think its a decent example of a portfolio.

you could try something of that nature, but i would suggest look at tons of porfolios and take a few things you like out of each one and try to implement them uniquely

That background with that text makes the text look horribly aliased.

Do not use the word simplistic. Use minimalistic.

Please, please increase the leading on your site.

The line length is way too long.

Change the word front to home. Using nonstandard words for navigation conventions is really confusing.
