I have a late 2008 MacBook, that i use to code apps for iOS, its a little outdated and i suppose i could use a new laptop;

I mainly want to code for iOS right now, and eventually PC Games once i finish school. Long story short...

I need help deciding what kind of laptop to get for school/coding/iOS coding/PC game coding.

I know you basically need Mac for developing iOS and putting them in the app store with the acception of hackintosh, but i prefer windows and ASUS or Lenovo laptops..

I need something that can easily handle; photoshop, illustrator, coding progs etc

any insight would be appreciated.

How many years of school do you have left? It's extremely unlikely that you'll be doing any serious kind of PC gaming coding right out of school, in any case, and most companies will provide you with the equipment you need to get your job done.

Focus on what makes the most sense right now -- what will get you through school and whatever projects you want to do in the meantime. If I were in your shoes and could afford it, my personal preference would still be to get a MacBook Pro or even an Air if you plan to be on the move a lot. But if for whatever reason you like using Windows more than OS X, then go for it. The only "coding progs" you should really need are vi/emacs (or Notepad+ on windows) and IntelliJ/Eclipse.

The Mac I have now could use a bigger HD and another stick of ram, but thats about it.. its a little slow at times but i think that's because i need to dust it out, but like i said mainly want to do coding for iOS for now, i mean i could always upgrade in the future or when i just get fed up with Macbook?

you could always get a decent PC and then get a program like parallels so you can have both mac os and windows at your disposal.

You can run mac-n-trash operating systems in a VM on PC hardware.

this sounds alot like what im looking for.... is this program free? if not it stil sounds very suitable..
does it give you full capability of a mac when you need it?
is it legitimate? could i still upload my iOS apps to the app store?

here's a novel idea: since you dislike Macs so much, ditch the entire ecosystem and make android apps instead.

thought of this, but...
1. lucretive market is better on iOS
2. i like programming for iOS
3. i prefer iOS over android.

+ idk how much different android coding is compared to iOS
