Not sure if in wrong forum...

But, after reading about project JARVIS, I was wondering, "how hard is this?"

Maybe some programmar professional can answer this for me.

-Is it hard to make an alarm that turns on the lights in your room then says "Good morning", the weather, time, etc.
-Is it hard to make a home system that turns off lights/electronics when you let it know you're leaving (maybe via card or something"
-If I say, "turn off living room light", it'll do it. Is that hard?

You get my point. Simple things like lights, weather, etc.

Siri can't understand my coworker since he has an indian accent. If a billion dollar company can't do it well, it can't be too easy eh?

"hard" is vague. are you asking if it takes a long time to process, computationally? if the algorithm is difficult to implement? difficult to come up with yourself while you're on the toilet having never having learned it before?

A programmar made a pretty nice "Jarvis" system in his house. So.... he must be smarter than them yeah?

And Siri understands pretty well. I didn't ask if it was hard to do it with an indian accent...

And sorry. If i hired a professional, could he do this stuff? Time doesn't matter. But is it difficult? Struggling? Etc.

Like, math is long but easy.

im not sure i'd refer to someone as smart just because he has hobbies he pursues. but then again it is smart to do things that make you happy.

Sure. obv he's a professional who does that kind of thing. you see it in phone systems for all the major companies too. you can prolly buy some products online to do what you want and install them yourself.

i dont agree with that, but to each his own.

Well, you must find math (not all of it) easy. Sometimes it takes a very long time.

I'm only a sophomore in alg. 2 (derp) and my math teacher showed me calc 2. Said it's somewhat easy just long.

As for your other answers, I guess you're right. I'm just so interested in having something like this around my home in the future when I move out on my own.

Thank you :)

your definition of easy will change when you face time management

10th grade? well that's why; you haven't seen real math yet, and you probably never will unless you become a math major. calc 2 is just basic calculations. if you wanna see real math, look into proofs. took 350 years of the most brilliant mathematicians in the world to prove fermat's last theorem, vastly expanding a good chunk of other fields in order to get the tools to solve it. but i'm sure it's easy for you, it'll just take a while. you can beat 350 years right?

5-10 years from now, i'm sure phone apps will do that for you, if it doesn't already.

/edit: here's a few math problems for you. you'll get a million bucks for each one you solve. how's that for motivation? a dude was awarded (and declined) the Field's Medal for solving one of them, which is the equivalent of a Nobel Prize in the math world
