rising senior computer science major, was wondering what i could spend my time doing productively, rather than dota2 or d3, while looking for a summer job. Bonuses would be its application to botting/hacking, and value as a freelance programmer's language. ty

Like every other cs major in america, I am skilled in Java, C, and rough python (very rough).

clarification/edit: I just read the rules sticky, so please keep the autoit/ automating languages out of this. I already am fluent in autoit anyway after 10 years of runescape. :S

can you clarify? These are the entries I saw in wikipedia under ASM:

Computer science:
ObjectWeb ASM, a Java library for bytecode modification and analysis
Abstract state machines, based on the concept of an abstract state machine in computer science
Active shape model, a deformable contour model used in computer vision
Algorithmic State Machine, a method for designing finite state machines
Any-source multicast
Assembly (demo party), a demoscene event in Finland
Assembly language, a low-level programming language
The keyword to use an inline assembler in C and related languages
Automatic Storage Management, in an Oracle database

He's refering to assembly language.

I've done small amounts of java web (jsf), asp (vbscript), asp.net (VB.NET or C#), django (python), grails (groovy), and php. of those, i like django and grails the best, but i've only messed with them for a few weeks so i can't really comment on whats best for larger projects. i also like groovy the best of the languages, but i am still fairly new to it.

if you haven't done any database stuff yet, then go into that. you can do that in java just fine via jdbc or jpa. i'd recommend postgresql, but mysql is fine too.

if you own an android/iphone, you might have more fun trying them out.

I am familiar wit IA32 assembly language via class. I'll also be taking android programming this fall semester as a one-time taught class which im very excited about. I'll look into some of those topics you posted, thanks

Legitimate use of Auto-It is banned on this Diablo 2 JavaScript Parser Website.
