Taking my first cs course @ UMSL (university of missouri st. louis)

just the basic c++ course (intro to CS)....the 2nd one follows in the fall and in spring I finally get to choose what courses I want to take. (going for a bachelors in CS/math)

I am nervous and excited at the same time. I really want the tools to be able to make stuff....

I know there are a lot of online communities for programmers, but if you guys have any recommendations you could send me let me know. Any sort of online source.

I will also accept any positive advice and I swear I won't bite.

made it to loops. so far seems like a lot of stuff I got out of my logic class last year.

Everything up till that point seems pretty clear. Hopefully the professor I get teaches the material good as well....

question:

does np++ compile? Like if I write code in it, save it in a c++ format, and then go to run the file, you can only run cmds exes etc.

Or do I need a separate compiler or something.

guessing I do ~_~ silly question

now I need to find a compiler.....
