Shadilay early adopters,
I've been prototyping something special for about a week, and it's already feeling really good.
Now I'm looking for a small group of playtesters to jump in super early, get hands-on with the core loop, and help prove whether this concept has legs (or springs?).
Gush is a 3D platformer/action-adventure heavily inspired by Sonic Adventure 2; fast, fluid movement, that classic hedgehog energy but with a fresh twist.
The big hook that got me obsessing over this: a new raycasting-based ground check method that makes jumping and traversal feel genuinely springy and toy-like.
Characters bounce, rebound, and stick in a super playful way that standard controllers just don't deliver. Pair that with some mermaid magic flair and physics-driven combat, and the character controller is already clicking in a way that feels unique and fun.
I've shipped smaller stuff before (Diablo/Bastion-style clones, RPG Maker projects), but this one's bigger — realistically looking at ~3 years to full release.
That's why early feedback is gold right now: we're testing if the core movement + combat fantasy actually lands with players. I want solid metrics before I do level design.
What we're asking from you (super low commitment): 45 minutes of your time
Play a short ~horizontal~ slice: slide down a mountain to rescue a pet, grab/spend some power-ups, then battle against the pet in a quick battle.
Give honest feedback afterward (what felt awesome, what felt off, does the springy movement click, etc.)
Requirements: brand new android device or old laptop and xbox controller. We need acceleration rates.
This is very early grey environment, rough edges, placeholders, definitely bugs. and that's the point. Your input could literally help decide if we keep pushing this direction or pivot.
If it resonates, you'll have bragging rights as one of the first people to play something that might turn into the next fresh take on classic 3D platforming.
If you're down to help shape this and experience that bouncy, toy-physics magic firsthand, drop a reply here or DM me.
I'll send 1 gig builds via google drive, torrent, or github and walk you through setup if needed.
Let's see if this thing has that SA2 spark
but springier.

Godspeed
