So I just got recommended to be the student chair of the under graduate research grant approval committee. Not sure how to feel other than flattered.

SO this is fucking cool. That private linux network that was setup on campus is for us to "play" with.

Prof. said today that at some point we will split the class into teams, RED vs BLU, and have "attackers" VERSUS "defenders" on the network. We will employ various techniques from the lecture, as well as some coding/sys admin stuff to fight each other.

I am so hyped.

Sounds interesting. I'd love to learn more if you could explain it to me metaphorically/in pleb terms.

what part would you like me to explain?

Half the class is going to break into the servers, and the other half is trying to fend them off.

Is that to hard to comprehend lol.

What specifically is confusing you? You in college? Maybe ask professors.

a teacher once told me, the less you understand the more you practice.

Except if you are trying to understand in order to create bots and hacks, then you simply give up after a few hours.
