TeanTreeHouse is Conjoined to http://DevPointLabs.com which is a great dev bootcamp school, realistically under 10% acceptance rate.
TeamTreeHouse is crawling with new / old talent giving subjects fresh feels. If you are patient the outdated stuff can be solved for you on their forums which is where devpointlabs has their top notch students assisting and participating for your benefit on a good updated system.

Use my ref link and get a free trial for a month w/ valid credit card. this site is great for getting into a devbootcamp because you can put your total score up in an iframe with a snippet on a personal blog.

honestly if you are not a slacker and want to try to crunch the stupid outdated stuff away for good I would suggest A dev Bootcamp, PM me if interested I have a bunch of archived ones in the united states mainly.

Were in the same shoes my friend. Please let us know how everything goes. Currently working at a pizza place and in my downtime learning the basics of HTML5/CSS with some Javascript. Dont ever give up on it. I only have a year of college under my belt but with the right amount of discipline and of course dedication you can be the best programmer in the world. That is why i love programming so much. It's hard but it pays off. I think everyone should at least take a class of some kind of language. Just my opinion. Good Luck my friend, I wish you the best and remember dont give up!
