You will bring that number to the table and then they will most likely try to talk you down which is okay, because your real number you wanted was below that of what you offered.

Unless they specified a wage during the interview or in the medium of which you found the job, you are pretty safe to negotiate, just don't be to aggressive or be a space cadet and ask for way more then the position is worth.


I got the internship! They called me and said they'll pay 25$ an hour...I think I should just take it...

I would just take it, don't think of it as the ceiling, but a stepping stone to what you really want.

I got another offer and I'm feeling conflicted.

The lower paying offer is for a field I'm more passionate about (health care) and the other company offers signicantlu more but it's less interesting (data management)

I guess it comes down to which intern would be more beneficial in the long run. The health care company would be web development / php and the data management is a UI design position
