ytdl is youtube-dl a python script for downloading youtube videos (stayed updated): http://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/

cd ~/.bin/
wget https://yt-dl.org/downloads/2015.04.17/youtube-dl
chmod +x youtube-dl

mine is ytdl to differentiate from the gentoo portage version. ytdl is the manually downloaded one. I then wrote my wrapper specifying quality and codec and named it yt

Ah. Yea youtube-dl is what I was trying to use before, but the version I was using was outdated.

I don't have skype, but if you have steam we could chat.

I ended up fixing my compile problem. I forgot to read the documentation for the firmware inclusion feature. You're supposed to only include the file name in one option, then change another to the directory. Meanwhile since I was doing a parallel make it was suppressing the error and seemed to be exiting cleanly.

Fixed my card reader though. Turns out I had the right drivers for my card reader, but forgot to compile in the drivers for specific card formats.

It's weird that they would have drivers specifically for communicating to the hardware (RTSX_PCI) and then drivers for reading specific card formats (MMC/SD, Sony duo, ect).
