That is actually how the currency system was born though. Farmers trading their wheat for sheeps wool. But when wheat wasn't in harvest, they still needed the wool. So they offered "IOUs" that when the wheat was in harvest the sheep farmer could come collect their wheat. And so, the system of trade for goods with reserve notes was born.

We did have a gold system backing our tender at some point... When that changed, central bankers went cray cray happy

I am not sure why you responded with laced animosity. I recognized your facetiousness in your reply, and was merely elaborating. The barter system does not work trading goods for goods, their needed to be a medium.

i do not think the bitcoin creator made bitcoin with a ponzi scheme in mind.

it is the opportunist who see bitcoin as a good platform for pump and dump

still, it is a wonderful experiment that has received so many publicity. lol

A "rare" aka "scarce" supplement for computer/networking is not to be considered an experiment, in a world where everything is thought to be reproducible, it is the first de-centralized currency to be widely accepted, it truly holds value in a world of time and energy. The protocol is way more advanced than a platform.
