Everyone has missed the point. "Programming, Motherfucker" is a response to all of the methodologies like Scrumm, XP, etc. Did any of you actually read the blurb on the top of the site?

And in any case, digging deeper reveals that "Programming, Motherfucker" is just some religion started up by Shaw to rebel against processes and various software development methodologies.  While he's certainly done some great work with his books (i.e. LPTHW), this "movement" (if you can even call it that) isn't exactly one of his brightest ideas... much less the t-shirt.

;)

Also, initial response to the phrase without knowledge of any deeper context is still a valid reaction - and most likely the one you'll get from people when you wear the shirt.

I thought it was worth a good laugh for the first few minutes I saw it. Now I just use it as a reference for when people ask how to learn a programming language. If you check out the /become.html page, they have linked books on tons and tons of languages, and they even linked a few frameworks.
