can one analyze packets from somewhere else?

hypothetically

one connects to..

lets say, the world of warcraft

just as an example.

would i see that packet? or would it be beyond server side?

e/ let me be more accurate,

if there was a trade window initiated .. whether it's the world of warcraft, or diablo 2..

would the packet see that person, or the server?

I'm still a little unsure of the question, but if I initiate a trade with someone I'd imagine that my trade request goes to the server, and then the server sends the other players then accept/deny prompt. Everything is going through the server, but I doubt the other player receives the same packet that I sent.
