I bet you work for a totally prestigious company that only shits out software made of the finest gold, right?

you sound pretty jaded. Maybe the problem isn't the people you hire, it is your inability to do your fucking job, find the right candidate, and train them properly.

I was just thinking this. He probably works for some shitty company making some stupid CRUD app and thinks he's hot shit.

I've never met the guy, I don't know where he works, but his attitude alone makes me think that he is looking in all the wrong places for the problem...

I hire computer programmers and software designers, not janitor work.

Computer science is the theory behind computers and technology. It is probably the most pointless degree aside from business management.

Just look at this subforum, its all kids cheating their way to a computer science degree, and then going out trying to find a job asking for 30 an hour but cant even make a hello world program

Every programming forum is the exact same too.

Hello why does this textbox+textbox not produce an integer?

I will say though, the people who do actually know how to program usually only know javascript, seems to be very popular right now. Very good for certain things, but not a lot of jobs hiring for this. Youare best off learning .Net or complex data management.

To Everyone Else:
As with any area of comp sci focus every aspect if its design, architecting, engineering, systems ("it") it all has a varying level of skill involved. To say any of them are harder then the other is ridiculous and insulting to most of those fields. Each has a specialized area which is just as challenging as any other. Even "IT/Janitoring", IT/Janitoring is the main stepping stone in the security field, a majority of SE's fail at IT, a majority of IT fail at SE, Most SE's cant architect there way out of a paper hat etc. If you step beyond your own focus and rid yourself of an elitest attitude you will find the masters in any of these fields have an extremely challenging career for anyone (at the top).

Software engineering and Systems engineers at the bottom (Code monkey or IT/Janitor respectively) both have absolutely no challenge or brain power required at the bottom, if you think otherwise you are in the wrong career.

No where in my post did I imply that, the bottom of the software engineering field is a code monkey. Is what I implied. As in the lowest position in the career path. Perhaps my last sentence wasn't worded the best is maybe where the confusion lies.

I edited my response to this because you are beneath me and not worth it.

Did a joke on the internet make you mad? I can't tell if it did or not, if so sorry.
