How many happy people do you know who chose a career path strictly due to the money? You should choose a career that will keep you interested So you don't hate your life for the next 30 years.
I get it. Computers are everyone. But do you know what is not everywhere? Pragmatic, logical thinkers. Case in point: spending all day on the computer has nothing to do with programming. And if you dont know anything about programming, then why would you want to make a career out of it?
If you are passionate about computing, more than just playing games and surfing the web, then isolate what exactly about them interests you. Networks? Hardware? Software? Figure out what that is and do some research on it. Figure out what that thing is, learn something basic about it. Is that something holding your interest? Well now you have something to work with.
Just saying "I want to work with computers" is so vague ....secretaries work with computers.
