i was trying to point out he should dive more into the current languages that he says he knows instead of doing a new one.

i disagree since he's a student. a general understanding of more options is better imo.

Lol.

How could you possibly know the depth of his knowledge in those languages? And besides, he wasn't asking for a new language to learn in the first place. He was asking for framework / api recommendations. He'd still be utilizing the languages he listed. NN to flame though, I don't completely disagree with what you said.

@carteblanche a very good understanding of programming concepts and being able to code in 1-2 languages really well is what lands you good jobs, not knowing a little here and there from different ones. a very good foundation in those can easily transfer to new languages once your ready, since all you really do is change syntax and maybe some built in features/support.

@selftaught, i dont, but i can only assume when he said something about his teachers, usually teachers only teach enough to do a few things. i think he was just using boot strap as an example.

Of course I don't, and I never pretended to.

And I agree with all the things that you say but I'm quite new to the programming world and, like everything else, it needs time and practice. I'm actually trying to have a better understanding of this world but I also need usefull skills to build site better and faster.

I'm more like a web designer guy who like to understand what he is doing and want to focus on user interface and experience. It don't always need a deep understanding of languages to do so (imo).

But I also like programming, that's why I'm not gonna stop learning javascript, php, python, etc It's just a too good/cool skill to have right now :p

ps: sry for my bad english :/

I'd take a look into AngularJS for frontend, or nodejs for backend. Lot's of people are now looking into getting their sites rebuilt in angular and node, and they are both great pieces of software!
