I hate GoDaddy.  Look at www.ASmallOrange.com

I personally don't know prices for webhosts atm but the vps's on that site are quite steep O.O

Well for simple shared hosting their plans are comparable.
Their speeds are amazing so it's probably worth paying for that.

GoDaddy is a horrible host. Overpriced, limited control and flexibility, etc. GoDaddy is good if you don't know what you are doing. I would recommend bluehost/hostmonster.

These are by far best option imho

I would recommend Ipage currently. Hostgator just transfered servers to non linux and are slower then before. Godaddy is good for domains only. Check out my sig if you're interested in coupons and discounts.

iPage is a terrible hosting service, I remember when they were boasting about being the "green, clean" host by making their servers slower than ever and reducing electrical use. So basically a downsize they were boasting about

just go with godaddy

they have great customer support, their prices are fair and you can buy a domain and host and even use their web builder. they have tons of things you can install such as drupal, wordpress, joomla ect for free.

a shared hosting is all you need until your site gets bigger, then you will get a private server, then multiple. if your site gets really huge you will be self hosting, not really that complicated.
