Using dban with a quick few passes you good to go, I use dban on hd's that I plan to sell or give away, since you can get the hd to a point where everything is massively obfuscated or gone.

thats just a myth. its been proven even with a single pass you cannot recover data. any excess of one pass is just working your drive harder.

I like to work my hd very hard, and then when I'm done with that I smear black battle paint all over it, and make it work harder, all the while whipping it on it's black underbelly.
