there is no magic answer. You need new ip and in your case it can only be given to you by your isp.

You have to call your ISP and TELL them to give you a new IP adress.

It costs like 10 bucks, but you have to demand it.

I still feel like it is highly unprobable that someone just got your IP address and is ddosing you.

What is your download/upload speed? www.speedtest.net

I would suggest using some sort of packet capturing program to determine where your connection loss is actually coming from>

To take the easier way out though, if you call your ISP and explain to them the situation (Don't say you're getting ddosed, but tell them you've been experiencing frequent network drops / a significantly slower connection than normal) they will (or at least SHOULD) investigate it themselves and determine where the traffic is coming from. If that is your actual problem, they will give you a new IP address / show you how to fix it.

sigh, well as I said before, if you really believe that and tell your ISP what's going on, they almost have to change your IP address (even though IP addresses aren't really private information anyway so anyone who interacts with you online on a regular basis can grab it if they really want to).

I would suggest downloading a program such as "nmap" and scanning your network for open/vulnerable ports and closing them in the off chance your computer is actually under attack.

You only get "ddosed" (ddos implies tons of people are attacking you at the same time by the way) if you have insecure network settings.

wrong.

even if you have the most secure computer in the world, I can just fill the network link to you. That is, line between you and isp is filled, and you can do nothing about it.

You're not going to find an answer in this thread because most of the people who will respond are SKIDs

Best answer is to explain it to your ISP

after theowing a gibberish like that, which you probably don't even understand and probably never even used nmap.

tell me how only "network with insecure settings" can be ddosed or how closing ports will prevent it? TELL ME PLEASE I NEED TO KNOW
