i prefer the terminal over a UI tbh. im much faster and more proficient using VI than any text editor like kate.

I love terminal also and I agree with the speed of it. But just like with most people of my generation (started using computers daily with Win 3.1) I am use to a GUI and clicking around with a mouse. SO it just feels more native to me. Sadly for most people, Using terminal is a head ache they just would not want to deal with. that is why I support and promote distros with good easy to use GUI like Gnome, Cinnamon, XFCE, etc.

LOL It is funny how ignorant the masses are tho. I have had people tell me that I am using a mac, I have had people accuse me of photo shopping my desktop, I have had people say my gui looks like modified Win Vista lol. People are just too commercialized.
