Ok so you want to send a packet to the server, its 125ms for the beam of light to reach the satellite, another 125ms for it to be returned to the earth, it reaches the server and it sends a response back to you, so another 125ms to reach the satellite, and then another 125ms to get back to you. Total round trip time 500ms. There is no way to reduce this either since this number was determined only by the speed of light. There are of course lots of other additional delays along the way, depending on how things are laid out, but you can just forget about getting even close to 500ms (there are satellite setups where the uploading is not done with the satellite, and so with that setup the limit from light alone is 250ms + huge additional losses).
