If you had known this was going to happen, there is something you could have done to prepare you system for the switch, but since your board died unexpectedly (I assume), that is not an option.

See if you had changed your sound card... then your soundcard would not work when you first booted up, but then you would just install the drivers for it, and it would work...
however you changed the motherboard.... its too central to your system, it will not work without a motherboard....
