I know this isn't really helping but you really gotta ditch that "so stupid why am I doing this" mentality if you want to make it far, especially in college.

Btw reccomend System.out.println(); 9 times out of 10 over .print(), but it depends on the application. ;)

it's important because you can use it to print out whether or not it hits certain conditions, parts of loops, blah blah debug blah.
imo it is pretty important, probably not as important as 1hour lecture, unless he explained why, but pretty important.

just my two cents

Ehh its Purdue University...

I understand that, but I wish there was a way i could skip 2 weeks then come back, but I'd miss the test on chapter one worth a lot of points... I don't remember exact numbers but I think about 8% of our final grade.

I wouldn't get your hopes up.
My intro to CS course was a complete joke the whole way through and this was at a pretty well respected school, known for tough grading.

If you're doing engineering at Purdue, easy As aren't exactly easy to come by.
Enjoy it while it lasts. Bring your book/notes to class and use this as a chance to get ahead. If the class encourages participation, jump on a few easy questions at the beginning and do your own thing for the rest of them time.
