Hello, to the self-taught persons in here, have you got any recommended site to learn php from scratch?

I know the basics like html / css and some basic php that I have learnt through some website but these websites were in French and I would rather learn the language by following english indications.

Thanks.

Thanks, will be useful at some point, but I am more looking for a step by step tutorial, it is just a hobby as I work in a whole different field.

Don't, simply put, it's bad language and no new project should ever be created with it.

Learn java, scala, python or ruby instead

Java is highly appreciated by enterprises where I live ( France ) but as far as I know, PHP community is bigger, and it's a great language.

Ignore that ^^

PHP is the best, ruby is for nerds. It's just type agnostic so it makes it harder to write eloquent code and maintainable code but it is pretty easily possible.

It's not great, and you'll realize what a huge waste of time it was after you learn it and then learn a real language.

seriously, it's so useless and bad, that even comparing "123.0000000000000000000002352352342345246234234" to "00000000000123" returns true. What could go wrong :rolleyes:

Code
var_dump("123.0000000000000000000002352352342345246234234" == "00000000000123" );

People who say php is best clearly never wrote anything serious or learnt any other language.
