i don't know much with this new technology but i understand basic stuff really i figured a few programs and a little knowledge and ill make it happen.
i want to be able to use a website and control functions for it on a computer. having the computer upload and download stuff onto the site using controls on a wireless device. any kind of anything would be helpful. thanks

You need to be WAY more detailed if you want any serious answers. So far, nothing you've said has anything to do with programming and can be simply done using any ftp client from a mobile device.

and as far as getting info from a website if you're on linux, you can use wget....

but if you're wanting to do all this with programming, I'm sure most languages could do it.... Python might be a good choice for what you're wanting. Not sure though

Unfortunately, that's still not quite enough detail. Every situation is different, and without knowing the exact who, what, and where of every step there's not really much we can do to help. Is the web page yours? Is the web server yours? Is the content local or remote, stored on your computer or on YouTube?



Ftp is file transfer protocol. Every time you hit "upload" on a website, that's what's behind it.

It might be in your best interest to get a free WordPress site so you can get a better idea of how these things work. In fact, that might be all you need to do what it is that you're trying to do.

wordpress ive heard this quite a bit and have looked it over, but i am always puzzled. any suggestions where to go to learn this well?

you're kind of asking for a simple answer to a very broad question... building a web application touches on pretty much every major topic covered in your average 4 year software engineering / cs degree.

That said, you could do this on your own and teach yourself as you go. Don't expect this to be a one google-search type thing, though... you are in for a long road.
