Hi everybody, I am looking for somebody to explain to me how to search ROWS in excel

I need to find more than 1 number... for example:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20

need a way to type in 5 9 13 and that it looks like in the example

alll rows containing these numbers... no matter the inbetween junk

Lots of ways to do this, but I can't think of any that can be contained in a single formula/cell. Here is an ugly solution:


User types numbers to search for in A5-A7, cells B5 - B7 returns the FIRST column that number can be found in.
the formula in B5 (and similar formulas in B6 and B7):
Code
=MATCH($A5,$A$1:$N$1,0)

Looks like this.... need it to highlight the row or the numbers or print the row containing the combination in a predetermined result cell(s)

select the values, hit "conditional formatting->highlight cell rules->equal to". Then click on the value you are looking for in the first row (for me that was cell O2), then hit f4 button twice to change the reference type:

what about v and h lookups?if you want a nice look you can always use vba

Ok we have some progress...

Would it be possible to make this Format cells that are EQUAL TO: (more than one cell: example O2 P2 R2 and so on?) in the same row,
and extend the eearch for example O2 to 3000 so that all rows are covered with the search?



so like that... i enter in top row search numbers and it higlights them in each row of the database

as u can see i need more than 1 highlight per row... up to 8 would be great

even simpler:

highlight range A2:K5, select conditional formatting, highlight cell rules, if equal, select M2, click OK
with above range still selected, select conditional formatting (again), highlight cell rules, if equal, select N2, click OK
with above range still selected, select conditional formatting (again), highlight cell rules, if equal, select O2, click OK

Now would it be possible to add a cell in each row like M3 M4 M5 and so on that popsup a number of higlighted cells in that row... example M3 should show number 3 and M5 number 1
