hey guys i just put a new motheroard in and i start the computer it gets to the loading part.. then shuts itself off.. any one know what the problem could be???

using mums laptop atm

edited to add:the problem is you don't have the right drivers installed for your mobo. Installing them is going to be difficult. I would try system recovery disk, repair option. Otherwise I think you will have to do reinstall of windows.

well i got the motherboard in and i put that disk in to start it... doesnt that have the drivers

could try booting of friendly media and deleting the installed mobo drivers

for your devices to work properly, they need drivers. your current installed version of windows has the drivers for your old motherboard, so its loading those and those won't work with your current motherboard, this causes a crash. Since you are crashing before the OS fully loads, you can't use your OS to fix your OS, you need a different OS to do the fix.

but i dont get it i put a motherboard in so now i have to reformat pretty much?

you either have to:

delete the old drivers, and hope that the system will actually load without drivers in some shitty limited fashion (and you can just use the system to install the new drivers).

use the windows repair option and hope it reinstall the correct drivers (not sure if this will work)

or just do a regular reinstall


If you had known this was going to happen, there is something you could have done to prepare you system for the switch, but since your board died unexpectedly (I assume), that is not an option.
