I recently started to read Holy Bible KJV
It startled me how it provides answers to some questions in my heart so quickly
In the past I've mocked religion for a laugh with my friends, without ever reading it beyond Genesis first 2 pages and some of Quran that was handed to me from a street preacher

What surprises me in the world today, is how mainstream bible bashing has become.
My curiosity is what will be left to guide man if the war on religion itself is won by man.
I observe a world with an ever increasing capability to connect, but I've never felt it more disconnected?
Does anyone on here think that deeply? These aren't the sort of conversations you strike up at a bus stop, but the folks on here are always eager with an opinion, so I'm curious;

How do you feel about religion? And what exposure do you have?

Appreciate any and all answers, please be respectful and answer honestly in the poll.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with religion. It’s only wrong when people try to impose their beliefs onto others.

You also mention war on religion. Have you ever considered how many wars were waged in the name of religion?

Going to assume this is an honest, non-troll post.

@the bolded. Throughout history there have been many "tough" times in which during that age the Christian believed what they are experiencing or going through is somehow much much harder or unparalleled compared to as before. The challenges of today i'd agree are different but don't think we're somehow closer to 'man' winning the war on religion.

There has been a tremendous movement away from faith in the last 50-100 years, particularly in the western world but IMO everyday there are new Christians persevering in some of the tougher parts of the world so you shouldn't have this all is lost attitude. China, Africa, parts of Asia, parts of the Muslim world, etc. Personally, I like the authenticity and realness of Sub-Saharan or middle eastern Christians compared to some of the a la carte attitudes you see from people here in North America or western Europe. I guess what I would say is try to look beyond just the bubble of your surroundings. Just because it looks dire here doesn't mean that's what it looks like globally.

What in my post prompted you to think of female genital mutilation?

Neither are Biblical and i don't support nor prefer either what a retarded thing to contrast and even ask.

that was literally an empty hook.

subsaharan africa is the epicenter of female genital mutilation, and its prominent in both the muslim and christain regions. but its a common "criticism" of islam because its been falsely attributed to the religion (even tho it's not practiced in the middle east nor afaik in the qaran) rather than the region.
