the task is simple. PaRD.

define republican in your own words

define democrat in your own words

define what you consider yourself politically in your own words

and bonus points for the more obsessive bunch, describe what you believe me to be politically of course also in your own words

also ill ask that you give me your country of origin, for those in the united states give me the state if you are comfortable, if not, the general region (south, southeast, northwest etc)

i suspect this topic will either get alot of traction or die away, regardless of either i will check back and respond accordingly if a need arises

Democrats and Republicans are political affiliations. They do not represent any coherent group of ideologies, only partisan alliances in a two-player zero sum game. Various factions, demographics, races, creeds, etc affiliate with one side or the other, and not always for any rational self interest but largely a product of historical cultural affiliations- that is to say, they just do. As such, "Republicans" are just a collective of groups affiliated together- tea partiers, rural blue collar workers, evangelicals, catholics, mormons, suburban parents, chinese immigrants, you name it. "Democrats" likewise are an affiliation of groups, though generally less ideologically coherent than Republicans, with an alliance between truly disparate groups like black people, muslims, coastal elites, bankers, journalists, trannies, etc.

Any attempt to define "Democrat" and "Republican" by ideology kind of falls apart when the big tent can encompass both a fringe minority and the folks who want to throw them off rooftops.

They are both corporate brands marketed to the masses with their own distinct grouping of positions on issues with the goal of maintaining the current power blocks. Two arms of the same socialist corporate system driving the country.

Am independent with a lot of my positions taken up from libertarian perspective thought process but with more local community consideration in mind.

I am still waiting for you to directly quote me and refute any statement I made in my topic about internet porn, where you were so kind as to pop in to say I don’t understand my topic and after being quoted at twice and asked to refute anything I have said, I have received silence.

This would be a fun topic if it were by a good faith actor.

republicans want to conserve good aspects of the past and maximize individual freedom.

democrats want to update and change aspects of society that are old/bad and create equal outcomes.

in actuality it depends on the state/locations though. most politicians are just demagogues to represent where they live. a maine republican is going to be different from a tenessee republican.

i lean moderately republican.
