The guy obviously was saying that was put in place to provide cover for the huge increase in wages.

Well the solution would be to let the tax payers vote on it the same way they decide public workers salaries

democracy can only be saved the oldschool way: voting only for net tax payers and/or land/property owners, same with public offices and no more career politicians
