If anyone asks me, which I hope that no one does, I am only interested in people being held accountable for if and when they choose to directly or indirectly add to the suffering of others. When it comes to suffering, no single community has a monopoly on the harmful behaviours which underlie acts that induce suffering, e.g., some Catholic Bishops do it, some atheist "leaders" do it, and even some scientists as well as homeopaths engage in activities which may make those they prey upon suffer. Behaviours are universal. So, with that said, I am heartened that D may be held accountable for pulling the wool over the eyes of his followers as well as for misleading the IRS for personal gain. Just to be clear, I do not think that identifying as a Democrat or identifying as being Left are assurances that someone is immune to being corrupt. I hope that that is clear. Justice ought to be blind to our identities. ⚖️
