Only days after the republicans won the house, led by James Comer and Jim Jordan, the republicans have begun the process of completely wasting the next two years of their power by involving themselves in even more fake investigations.

While none of this should be surprising, as it's exactly what most of the people involved have spent their entire political careers doing, it should be frustrating to the republicans who voted for these people, as these types of investigations will occupy most of the time they have available to make any of the things they promised legislatively possible.

One would think that the same people would stop repeatedly embarrassing themselves, but people keep voting for them, so here we are.

I wonder what complete nonsense story they will make up this time?

Jim Jordan the guy who is in denial of reality. Well the good news are these shitclowns will mostly be silenced by medias and i doubt they will have the power or elements to subpoena anyone.

That's his job. He's just there to feed a narrative to the right wing media who will just ignore the results in the reports like they did when John Durham completely failed the last fake investigations.

With split government, making "any of the things they promised legislatively possible" is impossible to begin with. Stopping the Biden agenda and investigating any possible misconduct of the administration is the whole purpose of this Republican House majority.

Also, it's not like Democrats didn't spend their the last 4 years of their House majority on show trials, grandstanding and outlandish investigations.

Imho, the parties' positions on most issues have diverged so much over the past 10-15 years that meaningful compromise has become impossible and total gridlock is inevitable whenever there is a split government. Some notable exceptions like infrastructure or chips exist, but they are few and far between.
