People are allowed to change for the better, but the irony is not lost. That being said, decriminalization and pardons of federal cases are about all the President can do until it's actually rescheduled. But it's a start, and LONG overdue.

However,.. it feels like a publicity stunt. Just to rally the cannabis crowd in for votes.
Which is messed up because cannabis activists have been fighting for decades.
They'll take little wins where they can (like state legalization).
