People live in front of their social media and were raised to trust the news/politicians and whatever they see from "Officials" which is why so many people are easily duped and will easily obey/trust what they see online. It's so easy scripting bots nowadays that act like human to divide the people and simply mislead people.

Coding a website and having good enough SEO/Fake activity to slowly bring that website up the google ranking/make it look relevant is quite easy nowadays. Even getting a followup.
