https://www.reviewjournal.com/crime/homicides/police-arrest-county-official-in-reporters-stabbing-death-2635486/On friday night, veteran newspaper journalist Jeff German of the Las Vegas Review-Journal murdered, stabbed to death outside his home by an assailant recorded on video laying in wait and disguised with a very large wide brim hat and orange shirt.
Jeff German had been a reporter on political stories, and earlier this year had investigated the democratic Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles on accusations of wrongdoing and workplace harassment. Jeff German's reports exposed German being in an affair with a subordinate staffer, retaliating against whistleblowers, aggressively micromanaging and demeaning his employees, with many complaints of favoritism and bullying. After that report was published, Telles posted a scathing letter to his campaign website as he ran for reelection, denouncing the Review-Journal and denying the claims. In the turmoil and animosity that followed, the top supervisor under Telles decided to run against him in the democratic primary and Telles was defeated. He then took his grievances to twitter and accused Jeff German of being obsessed with him, publicly feuding with him, calling it smears and lies.
Today Robert Telles was arrested on suspicion of murder. His car was identified at the scene of the crime, his home surrounded and eventually taken out in a stretcher with self-inflicted wounds, and is now in custody
