Have you guys read about this? Greg Abbott bussing illegal immigrants to New York and DC?

Apparently after asking for stricter border patrol and it not happening he’s been shipping them to cities that have said Texas is cruel to them and all immigrants are welcome there. But now they don’t have the ability to take care of them(the same thing Texas has been warning about for years.)

I’m not huge on politics but I found it very hypocritical. Texas has a problem. It’s bad. The number of illegal immigrants here is truly approaching nearly 1/5th of the DOCUMENTED population (may be over by now.)

What do y’all think the solution is? Obviously Texas wants help and didn’t get it from their own country so the Texas government is in a “Fuck the US” mode and I don’t see it getting better until both sides agree on some middle ground.

I doubt there will ever be any sort of compromise with a democrat majority or executive. It is way too far in the game for them to ever admit that immigration is a problem. This is why you here about pleas for help from DC, NYC, but no response. No public response anyways. Maybe they are secretly ubering back to hill country and hiding on my ranch. Kidding, only sort of.

Abbott needs to continue doing what he is doing. Handle the problem in a way that benefits Texas. Nobody up north gives a fuck about Texas, so why should we give a fuck about New York?

Imagine trying to justify Texas getting irate when asking for help and not getting it when they vehemently refuse to help any other part of the us with literally anything?

From what i've read it's a tiny amount of people actually coming that were bussed to these cities. In reality, he should get a fleet of busses and send thousands weekly and just dump them right in front of the white house/time's square.

Fuck dude yesterday you posted an article about Florida you didn’t even read, where if you had read past the headline you would have realize you shouldn’t have posted it.

Abbott is doing things that may one day create change. It is a long shot but whatever. People were fine with Black Lives Matter sponsored riots to “open peoples eyes” on the super exaggerated and mostly fabricated issue of racist cops “hunting” black people. Holy crap it was hard to even type that it was so stupid. But that was put up with for years. Here is a guy sending a tiny number of migrants to sanctuary cities and saying, “here deal with a few hundred of them. We have millions.”

It has become astoundingly clear the Biden administration is actively making the immigration problem worse and ignoring anything proposed by the representatives of the people who are most effected by it.

Deep blue cities proudly declared themselves to be sanctuary cities during the Trump years to get (what they thought were) free virtue signalling points. I don't see why it should be wrong to allow them to turn their big words into actual action by making good on the promise of being a safe haven for illegal immigrants. In reality, blue states and cities cling to their open borders rhetoric and policies while implicitly assuming red border states in the south to shoulder the bulk of the burden.

And just for the record: that's still what Texas and Arizona are doing. The number of illegals bussed to NYC or DC is still only a tiny fraction of the number showing up on the southern border. Kinda pathetic when New York, an extremely affluent city of 8 million, cries for help because they have to deal with a quarter of the number of migrants that McAllen with its population of 150 thousand has to cope with, isn't it?
